Each winter, the town of Batesville in Independence County transforms into the “Christmas Capital of Arkansas®,” offering a month of holiday-themed events in “Arkansas’ oldest city.” Carriage rides, ice skating, a parade, free movies, shopping days, the White River Wonderland. This year’s light display centers around the Batesville Community Center, Chaney Drive, 20th Street, and the Greenway Trail. New this year? Avalanche, a 150-foot mega-slide and the Reindeer Speedway, a 50-foot self-propelled “racing experience.” You can find all the details and event dates online.
